If you’re mailing or passing the rainbow ribbon onto a friend or loved one, with or without a Mormon-y tie tack/pin  (regular metal pins or safety pins work fine!), here are some ideas of a message to include, if any:

“Fear Not, I am with thee”

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of courage, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

“Fresh Courage Take”

“I like to look for Rainbows, Wherever there is Rain.”

“Someday we’ll find it, the Rainbow Connection–the Lovers, the Dreamers, and Me”

“Suffer the Children to Come Unto Me, and Forbid them Not.”

“Faith. Hope. Charity”

“I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign…”  (Genesis)

“I will not leave you comfortless”

“As I have loved you, love one another”

“By small and simple means are great things come to pass”

And then include a short message about how you thought they might be looking for ways to help gay kids who may or may not be “out of the closet” yet, to let them know you are a safe person snf that there’s hope, or if they want to reduce suicide risk for local kids, that they can wear the rainbow ribbon every week as part of the #RainbowMormon Initiative.   If you feel so inclined, close with how much you love them!
